Switching webserver kind

You can switch the webserver kind an appliction role is running at any point without any configuration changes.

To switch an Application role to use a differnt web server kind:

1. Select Servers from the left hand menu
2. Select the server you would like to edit the Application role for
3. Scroll to Roles section and select the Application tab
4. Select Web Server and when the page loads
5. When the page loads select Edit
6. Select your new webserver kind

warning

If you are switching to a LiteSpeed webserver, it will:

• Automatically shut down Apache and run the official LS docker image on the default http and https ports
• If switching from Apache, all php-fpm containers will be stopped and restarted as lsphp

7. Click Save to finish

You can expect to see downtown from 30 seconds to 10 minutes, this depends on server load and the number of hosted websites.

Tip

If you change the webserver on the control panel server and the new web server cannot start, you can use the CLI to switch back. Run:

appcd-cli 127.0.0.1 change-webserver apache
