Overview

The Application role provides the following services:

• HTTP Apache 2.4 (opens new window), LiteSpeed (opens new window), OpenLiteSpeed (opens new window) or Nginx (opens new window)
• PHP FPM or LSPHP (one per website, where the website has PHP enabled)
• Screenshotd (internal Enhance service responsible for maintaining a screenshot of website added to the platform)
• FTP (pure-ftpd)
• Filerd (internal Enhance service which powers the web based file manager)

When installing the application role you will be able to select your webserver kind (Apache, LiteSpeed, OpenLiteSpeed or Nginx). A different webserver kind can be selected for each of the application roles installed on your Enhance cluster. You can also switch the webserver kind a server is running at any point without any configuration changes.
