Installing the DNS role

TIP

To run the DNS role on a server allow port 53 on your firewall.

TIP

If you are running a server with just the DNS role installed we recommend 2GB RAM and 20GB disk.

To install the DNS role:

1. Click Servers in the left side bar
2. Choose the server that you want to add the DNS role to
3. Click Add role and select the 'DNS' check box
4. Complete the form and hit Add role

TIP

You can navigate away from the server page when a service is being installed and you will be notified when the installation is completed.
