About the DNS role

The DNS role provides DNS (PowerDNS (opens new window)) for all the domains on your Enhance cluster.

Unlike other roles, websites are not mapped to a specific DNS role instance. Instead all DNS role instances serve all zones on the platform. If a DNS role is added to an existing cluster it will automatically pick up all existing domains

TIP

The DNS role is only required if you intend to provide DNSto customers. The Enhance control panel does not depend on this role and functions without it.
