# Restore Hard Deleted Websites

This tool is only available to the ‘Master Organisation’.

WARNING

It is only possible to restore hard deleted websites with backups made using the Enhance backup role, not S3.

Websites which are hard deleted from a cluster are automatically archived if a backup exists (manual or automatic) and can be restored through the Archived backups tool provided by the Enhance backup role.

WARNING

It may not always be possible to restore backups created prior to version 12.7.0.

The Archived backups tool performs a full website restore including all files, databases and email accounts (if present) from the latest available backup (manual or automatic). Websites are restored to the original owner, package and domain. If the original domain is already present on a cluster the restore will fail.

Hard deleted websites will remain on your backup server until they are manually deleted or they reach the maximum retention configured in Settings > Platform > Backup.

WARNING

Restoring a website from archive may push a customer over their package resource allowance.
