# Disable backups on a website
Only admins are able to disable backups on a website
It is possible to stop backups on a specific website despite the availability of backups on a package level.
To disable backups on a specific website:
- Open Websites in the left side bar
- Locate the website you would like to disable backups for and click the ... menu
- Select Overrides
- Scroll to Website backups and disable the toggle
This will stop website and email backups on this website. All backup related functionality will no longer be visible to the end user, this includes the listing of historical snapshots, ability to backup a site on demand and restore a backup.
